- Monroe County Schools will be closed today, due to the eminent threat of Hurricane Ernesto.
- Temple Beth Am Day School in Pinecrest and all on campus activities will be cancelled Wednesday.

- Miami Country Day School will be closed Wednesday.

Colleges and Universities
- All classes, clinical activities, and events at the University of Miami are canceled for Wednesday. Medical school faculty and staff may also call 305-243-6079 for the latest information. - Classes at Miami-Dade College are closed for Wednesday. All classes, activities and events scheduled these days are suspended. Students and staff should call the MDC Hotline at (305) 237-7500 or visit the MDC website at http://www.mdc.edu/ for the latest updated information on the college's status.
- All FAU classes and normal business operations are cancelled for Wednesday. All programs and offices at the A.D. Henderson University School, FAU High School and the Karen Slattery Child Development Center are also cancelled. - Florida International University is closed on Wednesday. Deadlines associated with registration will be extended.
- National School of Technology is closed on Wednesday.
- Carlos Albizu University (CAU) and the Goodman Clinic for Psychological Services will be closed for Wednesday. Both the school and the clinic will resume normal operating hours on Thursday, August 31.
- All classes at Barry University were cancelled Tuesday.
- Kaplan University in Ft. Lauderdale and Boca Raton closed Tuesday. Wednesday morning classes are cancelled at the Florida Education Center at the Lauderhill Mall.
- All classes at St. Thomas University are cancelled for Wednesday.
- The University School and Mailman Segal Institute for Early Childhood Studies, both on NSU's main campus in Davie, are closed for Wednesday. This closure affects all students, faculty and staff members.
- Keiser College campuses in Fort Lauderdale, Kendall, Pembroke Pines, West Palm Beach, and Port St. Lucie closed Tuesday. Miami-Dade locations will be closed Wednesday.
- The Keiser Career College Miami Lakes campus will be closed Wednesday. The Green Acres campus in Palm Beach closed Tuesday.
- The Everglades University Boca Raton campus closed Tuesday.
- Florida Memorial University will be closed Wednesday. Please call the University Hotline for updates (305) 626-3600.
- WorkForce One Centers in Broward closed Tuesday.
- All Nova Southeastern University campuses closed Tuesday. Nova Southeasten University, its Mailman Segal Institute and University school will be closed Wednesday.
- The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale will be closed Wednesday.
- Trinity International University will be closed Wednesday.
- The Concorde Career Institute in Lauderdale Lakes will be closed Wednesday.
- Broward Community College will be closed Wednesday.
- DeVry University closed Tuesday.
- Johnson & Wales University closed Tuesday at noon.
- American InterContinental University closed Tuesday, August 29th due to Ernesto. Students and staff can call 954-446-6112 for continuous information.
Transportation
- Tolls suspended until further notice on the Homestead Extension of Florida's Turnpike, which includes all toll plazas from Florida City up to the Three Lakes Toll Plaza in Osceola County.
- Tolls are suspended southbound and northbound on the Sawgrass Expressway and east and west on Alligator Alley.
- Tolls have been lifted on westbound Gratigny Expressway.
- All tolls on Miami-Dade Expressways (MDX) have been lifted until noon Wednesday.
- Bridges in Broward and Miami-Dade Counties are in the lockdown position until further notice.
- All entrances into Port Everglades closed Tuesday except checkpoint 2 at 900 SE 24th St.
- The two drawbridges on the Overseas Highway at Jewfish Creek in Key Largo and Snake Creek in Islamorada were locked down on Tuesday so that traffic can proceed without delay. Boaters with tall profile vessels will not be able to request a bridge opening after this time.
- Visitors with immediate plans to travel to the Keys must postpone their trips, until the risk has passed and officials issue a directive that travel can resume. ADDITIONAL HELP AND RESOURCES
- The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority has suspended Tri-Rail service until further notice. Contact 1-800-TRI-RAIL (874-7245) for service updates. CSX Transportation, which dispatches and maintains the South Florida Rail Corridor, plans to begin removing crossing gates at noon today for safety reasons and because of the potential for significant flooding. Once the gates are removed, Tri-Rail cannot operate.
- Miami Parking Authority (MPA) offices will be closed Wednesday. MPA garages 2, 3 and 8 are locked and secured for MVP users and all other inbound traffic. All other MPA garages and lots in the City of Miami are closed.
- Lauderdale Lakes' Community Bus service will continue to run until further notice.

Cruise Ship Information
- The itineraries of Carnival Cruise Line ships Elation and Ecstasy have been changed. If you have any other questions, call Carnival Cruise Lines at 1-888-CARNIVAL.

- Port of Miami will remain closed until further notice.
Hospitals
- Bascom Palmer Eye Institute's hospitals and clinics in Miami, Palm Beach Gardens, Naples and Plantation will be closed Tuesday. A decision about closures for Wednesday, August 30 will be made by mid-day Tuesday.
- The Miami-Dade County Health Department offices and clinics closed Tuesday. They will determine tomorrow if offices will re-open on Wednesday. Call 305-324-2400 for more information.
- Baptist Hospital: All elective surgeries, procedures, therapies and diagnostic tests are cancelled for Wednesday, August 30, at Doctors Hospital in Coral Gables, Homestead Hospital, Medical Arts Surgery Centers, Baptist Medical Plazas, and Mariners Hospital in the Upper Keys. A normal schedule will resume on Thursday, August 31. At Baptist and South Miami Hospitals, early morning procedures are cancelled, with a normal schedule expected to resume by mid-day Wednesday. Call the hospital or doctor's office to verify appointment status.
- Pregnant women: Shelters are now open for women scheduled to have their babies at Baptist, South Miami or Homestead Hospitals, who are 36 weeks pregnant or more, or who are determined as high risk by their physician. For information, call the hurricane maternity hotline at 1-866-639-5431 (1-866-NEW KID1).
- All elective surgeries and classes at Hialeah Hospital and Palmetto General Hospital have been cancelled Wednesday.
- Cleveland Clinic Hospital and its 24-hour emergency department, located at 3100 Weston Road in Weston, will remain open throughout Tropical Storm Ernesto's approach to and duration in South Florida. However, elective surgeries and outpatient procedures on Wednesday, August 30, are canceled and will be rescheduled with patients.
- Leon Medical Centers (LMC) and all four medical centers will be closed Wednesday.
- Humana and CAC Medical Centers will be CLOSED WEDNESDAY
- All elective procedures at Bethesda Memorial Hospital scheduled for Wednesday, August 30, 2006 have been cancelled.
Bethesda Health City is closed on Wednesday, August 30.
Bethesda Service Center is closed on Wednesday, August 30.
Visiting Hours at Bethesda Memorial Hospital have been suspended until further notice.
- Memorial Senior Partners, 1726 E. Hallandale Beach Blvd. in Hallandale Beach, will be closed and re-open Thursday, August 31.
- Memorial Home Health, 7369 Sheridan St. in Hollywood, will be closed. A nurse will be on-call.
- On Wednesday, August 30, all elective procedures, treatments and therapies will be suspended at Holy Cross Hospital. For more information, please call 954-771-8000.
- Federal Hwy. in Dania Beach and 6214 Johnson St. in Hollywood will be closed and re-open at 8 a.m. on Thursday, August 31.
- Memorial Regional Hospital Fitness & Rehabilitation Center, 300 Hollywood Way in Hollywood will be closed.
- Jackson Memorial Hospital: All elective procedures, including surgeries, canceled until further notice. All outpatient clinics throughout Jackson Health System closed until further notice. Employees contact (305) 585-8000.
- Memorial Outpatient Center, 1750 E. Hallandale Beach Blvd. in Hallandale Beach, will be closed.
- Memorial Cancer Institute at both hospital campuses, 3501 Johnson Street and 703 N. Flamingo Road, will be closed and re-open on Thursday, August 31.
- Memorial Breast Cancer Center, 3700 Johnson St. in Hollywood, will be closed Tueday and Wednesday and will re-open Thursday, August 31 at 8:30 a.m.
- All elective procedures at Bethesda Memorial Hospital scheduled for Wednesday have been cancelled. Bethesda Health City and Bethesda Service Center is closed on Wednesday. The Emergency Department at Bethesda Memorial Hospital remains open.
- Humana and CAC Medical Centers will be closed Wednesday.
Government Operations
- South Florida Water Management will remain closed through Wednesday.
- Garbage pick-up in Miami-Dade: normally scheduled pick-up will continue throughout the county through about 1 p.m. Tuesday.
- Garbage Pick-up in Broward: Household and hazardous waste collection sites in Pompano Beach, Davie and Hollywood will be closed until further notice. Broward County Recycling and Garbage Collection Services to be suspended on Wednesday, August 30.
- Early voting in Miami-Dade County has been suspended until further notice, with permission from the governor.
- Broward early voting is suspended for Wednesday only and will resume Thursday.
- All Miami-Dade Courts and the Clerk of Courts will be closed on Wednesday. All Court proceedings scheduled for Aug. 29 and Aug. 30 will be re-scheduled. The Miami-Dade Courts and Clerk's Office are scheduled to re-open on a normal schedule on Thursday, Aug. 31. For continuing updates, please call the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Hotline at 305-349-7777.
- United States District Court operations in all divisions of the Southern District of Florida will be closed Wednesday, August 30. These closures affect the District Court's operations in Key West, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach and Fort Pierce and includes Bankruptcy Courts in the District. Jurors have been instructed to call in for further reporting instructions.
- The United States District Courthouse located at 301 Simonton Street in Key West, Florida will be closed until further notice. All hearings scheduled in Key West for Monday are canceled and will be rescheduled.
- City of North Miami administrative offices are closed Wednesday.
- The Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office and courts will be closed Wednesday.
- The Homestead City Hall will be closed Wednesday.
- Homestead's Divisional EOC will be activated at 7 a.m. on Tuesday. The divisional EOC operates in conjunction with the County EOC and will remain open until further notice. The number to the divisional EOC is 305-242-2400. Wednesday activities are still TBD. For updates on scheduled activities, please call the Parks & Recreation Department at 305-224-4579.
- City Hall and City of Fort Lauderdale will remain closed through Wednesday.
- U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services office closed Tuessday. The Application Support Centers (ASC's) in the South Florida area will be closed Tuesday to the public after 12 noon. All appointments will be rescheduled immediately and applicants will be notified.
- Coral Springs City Hall will be closed all day Wednesday. Please monitor the City's website and local news broadcasts for the status of City Hall reopening. All Parks and Recreational facilities are currently closed.
- Pembroke Pines Municipal Offices, Charter Schools, Southwest Focal Point Senior Center, Early Learning Center, and City Parks will be closed Tuesday. The Police Department Rumor Control Hotline is 954-442-5186. Updates will follow as necessary.
